Salary: to £25k pro rata

Hours: 22.5 hours pw, very flexible on working hours.

Salisbury Cathedral School is a day and preparatory school for boys and girls aged 3-13 years old. Closely aligned to Salisbury Cathedral there is a real focus on music, including teaching the child choristers from the Cathedral.

The successful HR Administrator will have previous experience of recruitment or HR and strong admin skills and experience.

The role will see you providing the HR admin support to the Senior Leadership Team.

It is a varied role and will suit a strong team player with excellent administration and organisational skills with the ability to adopt a flexible, proactive, and adaptable approach. The successful candidate will be friendly, warm, professional, able to build strong working relationships with a helpful can-do attitude. Discretion, excellent attention to detail, communication and interpersonal skills are key attributes required.

You will have

  • A good standard of education especially in Maths and English which must be at least to GCSE
  • Proven experience of working in an HR or recruitment role
  • Strong organisation and time management skills with the ability to be proactive, resourceful, versatile and flexible
  • Ability to prioritise, remain calm, work under pressure and adapt to changing and competing demands
  • Accuracy and good attention to detail
  • Enthusiastic, and self-motivated
  • Able to use initiative with the ability to take ownership of tasks and see them finished on time and to a high standard with minimal guidance and supervision
  • Strong team player with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build strong working relationships at all levels
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent IT skills with good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and outlook
  • Professional, friendly, polite and helpful approach

  • Tactful, discreet and diplomatic, with the ability to maintain the highest levels of confidentiality at all times, acting in line with GDPR

There is a high degree of compliance work needed in this role as is the ability to prioritise your workload. You will undertake that recruitment and HR admin such as advertising roles, managing the recruitment inbox, uploading applications onto Google Drive, liaising with managers to shortlist candidates, organising interviews and preparing interview packs, updating candidates on the outcome of applications, taking out references and managing all school based compliance including the single central register. Other projects such as data management will also form part of your role.
