NCHA has an exciting opportunity for a part time Cook to join our fantastic catering provision at our Sherwood House site in Nottinghamshire. Sherwood House is a registered care home providing care and support to adults over the age of 65. In this charming location surrounded by nature, we require a cook who can put their imagination into their food to ensure our residents have a varied and flavoursome diet.

We aim to give our residents the best care possible and this includes providing nutritious meals for our 19 residents. You will be the star of the show cooking breakfast, lunch and tea and being involved in the menu planning and ordering. There is so much to celebrate year round so you’ll also cook a wide range of cuisines to celebrate special events such as birthday’s and religious festivals. Quality and presentation is a focus, each dish should be a work of art!

The Role:

With the aid of colleagues, volunteers and the other kitchen staff, you will support and guide the team to create a pleasant, positive and productive environment. As the Cook, we know you will lead by example on Health and Food Safety, by ensuring compliance of legislation and maintaining kitchen hygiene. As well as working in a great team, you will also be happy working independently too.

As a part time role we can offer flexibility however we expect you to work 6 hour shift 07:30-13:30hr x 3 shifts over a 7 day rota.

Requirements:

Demonstrating NCHA’s CLEAR values, we require you to have excellent communication and organisational skills to ensure you always provide a high quality service and get your orders right the 'first time’. Preferably, you will have your Food Hygiene Certification, however, training will be provided on this.
