Health & Wellbeing Teaching Assistant


Contract: Full-time, Term Time plus 10 days
Hours: 34 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Location: East Hertfordshire

Pay Scale: H3-H5 Depending on experience



We are seeking a dedicated Health & Wellbeing Teaching Assistant to join our supportive team at a school that caters to pupils with severe learning difficulties aged between 2 and 19 years. The ideal candidate will have experience and/or qualifications to support the pupils’ health and wellbeing. This role is an opportunity to contribute to a school with excellent resources, facilities, and a strong community relationship.

Day-to-day of the role:

Provide physical activities tailored to the needs of the pupils.

Support sensory needs and contribute to the overall wellbeing of the children.

Assist in the learning and educational activities under the direction of the Class or Specialist Teacher.

Work across all areas of the school, adapting to the needs of each individual pupil.

Participate in the planning and delivery of an after-school club once per week.


Required Skills & Qualifications:

Experience or qualifications in supporting health and wellbeing in an educational or care setting.

Ability to work effectively under the guidance of a Class or Specialist Teacher.

Strong interpersonal skills to engage with pupils, staff, and the wider school community.

Flexibility and adaptability to meet the varying needs of pupils.

Commitment to the school’s ethos and to professional development.
