Building effective relationships across the business units and faculty to support the delivery of an added value finance provision. 

What you will be doing..... 
As the Assistant Management Accountant, you will support the Finance Manager with all aspects of the Month and Year end Reporting.  You will be responsible for ensuring SAP transactions are all completed, and that journals, accruals and prepayments are complete, and accounts reconciled.

You will provide first stage analysis and variance commentary for month and year end, liaising with business colleagues as required.  Support  Finance Manager in the preparation of the 5-year financial plans, quarterly forecasts, including ongoing monitoring and reporting of variances, liaising with budget holders and preparation of financial templates and information.

You will liaise with budget and project holders and provide advice, start-up costings, and ongoing reporting.  You will complete statutory annual returns (Other income, Non pay, TRAC etc). You will maintain an invoice schedule and provide budget updates to budget holders. 

What you need to offer....
  • A part qualified or qualified accountant (CCAB, CIMA or equivalent qualification) or suitable equivalent qualification by experience
  • Strong experience of management accounting skills including budgeting, forecasting and monthly reporting. Ability to identify and narrate variances.
  • A strong customer service focus with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written with the ability to explain complex information to non-specialists and effective interpersonal skills with the ability to work with a wide range of people.
  • Well developed analytical skills with the ability to understand and interpret the challenges and opportunities facing the organisation.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the proven ability to manage a demanding workload, recognise priorities and work to deadlines, whilst maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Self-motivation and initiative with a commitment to training and development and Continuing Professional Development
  • High level Skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and ability to utilise IT and data analytics to support insightful reporting
