Practice Accountant
This small practice needs to recruit an additional Practice Accountant due to its rapid growth. You must be able to converse confidently and competently with small business owners who will be your clients. The practice is looking for someone who is service-focused and wants to assist small business owners. You will be computer literate and comfortable with the Internet.
Employment: Full-time/ part-time, Office based (consider Hybrid), permanent role
You must be trustworthy, honest, good at problem-solving, motivated, and patient. You must also pay close attention to detail and be able to multitask.
You should be able to work alone with motivation and initiative, manage a small team and perform well with others.
The Practice Accountant Role
The role will be hands-on and cover multiple facets of the business. You will work closely with the owner, and the role will include:
- Preparing quotations and onboarding new clients
- Selling the firm’s accounting service and software solutions
- Preparation and submission of Statutory Accounts for Limited Companies, Partnerships and Sole Traders
- Assisting in bookkeeping and VAT preparation
- Preparation and submission of Corporation Tax, Partnership, Sole Proprietor and Self-Assessment Personal Tax returns
- Liaise with clients at meetings to provide advice and support
- Coordinating work schedules, ensuring statutory deadlines are met and reviewing support staff output to ensure an error-free environment

The Candidate
To be considered for the position, you should have/ be:
- Minimum of five years experience within an Accountancy Practice
- CIMA/ACA/ACCA qualified/part qualified/qualified by experience
- Experience with cloud-based accounting packages
- Ability to prioritise work and manage staff to meet deadlines
- Good organisational and people skills
