Part Time Sales Ledger Accounts Assistant

  • Salary: £25,000 - £27,000 pro rata

My client is seeking a part time Sales Ledger Accounts Assistant to join their finance team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the preparation and presentation of accurate and timely financial information to the senior management team. This role involves a range of financial duties, including data entry, management accounts, and ad hoc financial tasks.

Day to Day responsibilities include:
  • Form an effective link between the finance department and other business areas.
  • Assist the Financial Controller in creating, implementing, reviewing, and improving systems and financial/administrative processes.
  • Take ownership of the accuracy and completeness of financial data entry.
  • Enter data within Salesforce for sales invoice creation and utilise Xero for sales ledger reporting.
  • Interact with the Commercial team to resolve invoicing requirements and updates.
  • Monitor and maintain the tidiness of Accounts Receivable ledgers, resolving any issues identified.
  • Provide support to the purchase ledger function as needed.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts, budgeting, forecasting, and year-end audit and tax work.
  • Contribute to general accounting, reporting, and compliance with internal controls.
  • Engage in ad hoc reporting, project work, and sales/cost analysis and reviews.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Practical experience with Xero accounting software is desirable, with experience in additional financial packages being beneficial.
  • Exposure to a multi-currency operating environment is preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience working within a Finance department.
  • Working knowledge of Excel.
  • Ability to work accurately on own initiative.
  • Clear communication skills at all levels.
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills, with the ability to deliver on time.
  • Comfortable working in a small team environment.
