Work hard during the best months of the year Spring & Summer!! Enjoy the sunshine and watermelon craze and then have four lazy months off in the winter.  Sound good?  CM Watermelon Imports is a seasonal operation where you will be required to work from early spring to the beginning of autumn, this is the busy season.  During the winter months you may be asked to work 1 or 2 days each month just to catch up on admin and update social media.  

Are you flexible with varying working hours? Due to the inconsistent hours, this role could suit somebody without too many personal commitments.  You will be working in a small office within a warehouse environment that operates heavy machinery. It can be chilly at times even in the summer months, so be prepared to wrap up warm!   

You'll be working for a small, sociable, vibrant family run company.  Some days you will be busy, usually when it's hot and local businesses are crying out for Watermelons! Sometimes when the weather is dreary, you can finish up early, head to the gym or catch up on some personal errands.  Normal working hours in season are 8am/9am start  - 4pm/5pm finish Mon -Sat.  When extremely busy you may be asked to come in at 6am .  Sunday hours when busy are 8am - 3pm. During the quiet periods you may have Sundays off.

The watermelon season begins mid March and continues through to the beginning of September.  In September, CM Watermelons also imports wine grapes for a small niche market of wine lovers that enjoy making their own homemade wine.  These 4-5weeks in September are fun and more relaxed.  There is a lot of entertaining clients on site during this time.

Key Skills and Requirements:

• Basic Admin: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, is crucial.
• Telephone Etiquette: A friendly and professional manner when communicating with customers and colleagues.
• Customer Service Skills: Providing a great service to clients is paramount.
• Accounts: Create invoices for clients and reconcile once paid.
• Flexibility: Willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional unsociable hours.
• Punctuality: Consistently arriving on time and meeting deadlines.
• Sociable: Enjoy working in a team environment and engaging with others.

Desirable:

• Retail/Wholesale Experience: Any experience in retail or wholesale environments is advantageous.
• Industry-Specific Experience: Previous experience in the Fruit/Veg industry would be beneficial.
• Foreign Languages: Proficiency in additional languages would be advantageous. (Arabic, Italian, Spanish, Greek, Turkish preferred)
• Quick books knowledge
• Experience in using a CRM system: Preferably Salesforce
• Creative admin: Taking care of social media & writing blogs
