HR Advisor - Part Time

Part Time HR Advisor - £35,000 - £40,000 (FTE) - 16-24 hours per week

Job Purpose

As an HR Advisor, you will be responsible for providing expert guidance and support to both employees and management with the Human Resources policies, procedures, and best practices. You will be managing, maintaining and implementing HR management practices which supports the Company's performance and strategic aims and objectives. The role will also be responsible for ensuring that the Company is legally compliant in relation to all HR matters which arise during the Company's operation.

Key Responsibilities

Human Resource Management:

• Be point of contact for employees, offering advice on generalist HR matters
• Responsible for day-to-day management of the Human Resource function and ensuring that it delivers a high-quality service.
• Provide advice and guidance to senior management on policies, procedures and employment law.
• Develop, implement and maintain relevant HR management practices and people strategies, aligning them to the Company's strategic aims and objectives.
• Support Senior Management to ensure appropriate support with any HR related projects or procedural changes within the service.
• Provide recommendations on any HR initiatives.
• Lead on routine or ad hoc HR projects producing proposals, reports and plans as necessary.
• Monitor, measure and report on any HR related issues and opportunities.
• Ensure that the Company is compliant with relevant legislation.
• Develop, review and update the Company's HR policies and procedures.
• Coach and support managers with any HR issues that may arise.
• Keep up to date with any employment law changes and communicate interpretations of those changes as necessary.

Employee Relations:

• Facilitate and manage all employee relations casework.
• Liaise with Occupational Health and support line managers with implementing feedback and reasonable adjustments where necessary.
• Assist Heads of Department to deliver any other organisational changes as necessary.

Resourcing & Talent Management:

• Oversee the recruitment and selection practices.
• Attend and conduct interviews alongside managers when required.
• Construct and assist management in creating job descriptions, person specifications and job advertisements.
• Work with the senior staff to ensure that organisational staffing structures reflect the relevant budgets.
• Ensure that resourcing practices and decisions adhere to equal opportunity working practices.
• Oversee the onboarding process, including right to work checks and inductions.

General Responsibilities :

• Act as a representative of the Company in all dealings with internal and external agencies and stakeholders.
• Ensure that the Company is in line with the Data Protection Act 2018 and the General Data Protection Regulations 2018.
• Provide a diverse and culturally sensitive approach in all dealings and act within the Company's Equality and Diversity policy and frameworks.
• Promote equality and anti-discriminatory practices within all aspects of service delivery.
• Promote a safe working environment in line with policies on H&S, highlighting any significant deficiencies to the line manager.
• Act in the interest of the Company throughout all dealings with internal and external stakeholders.
• Undertake any other duties as may be reasonably required.

Essential criteria:

• CIPD Level 3 qualification in HR Management or equivalent experience.
• Comprehensive understanding of employment legislation and ability to apply that understanding to practical situations.
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
• Experience of managing employee relations and casework.
• Experience in using, maintaining and developing HRIS systems.
• Keen eye for details with excellent accuracy and precision.
• Ability to extract and analyse data to produce reports and recommendations
• Ability to demonstrate commercial perspective to problem solving and taking a pragmatic approach to decisions.
• Ability to prioritise and manage own workload, and meet deadlines.
• Experience in coaching and training managers on good management practice.

Desirable criteria:

• Experience in HRIS system implementation & usage.
• Experience working in a standalone HR role.
