Hours: 22.5 hours per week, working 3 days a week. Typical shift 7:30am - 3pm. You must be available to work Fridays and Saturdays, the other day of the week is flexible. No evenings or split shifts. You will be required to work school holidays, bank holidays and weekends.

An ideal candidate will have 2-3 years baking experience, happy to work in absence of a Head Chef when needed. Your role will mostly be taking care of the baking for the property, this includes Afternoon Tea and more skilled cakes and bakes. You will be happy to cook from the NT cookbook

Salary: £15,000 pa (£25,000 FTE)

Duration: Permanent contract

You will be based at Dunstable Downs, Bedfordshire Prop, Chute Farm, Dunstable, LU6 2LN What you'll be doing Your main focus is the kitchen, a busy and creative hub. You’ll be working within the framework of our ‘National Trust Cookbook’ to prepare delicious food from scratch using fresh, seasonal ingredients. Your food will be served directly to visitors.
You’ll help to build a great place to work, which includes showing empathy and giving support to team members when needed. The aim is to foster a positive spirit where everyone is focussed on giving the best possible service to visitors. 
By maintaining high standards of food hygiene and COSHH procedures, you’ll minimise risks to visitors, staff and contractors.
We’ll give you an induction that fits the job, and training in allergens and food safety, plus any mentoring needed to help you in your role. You can sign up for further professional training and development if you wish.
