Health and Social Care Lecturer

We are seeking a Health and Social Care Lecturer who is passionate about delivering inclusive, responsive, and innovative teaching and learning. The successful candidate will join great department and contribute to the achievement of the college’s strategic objectives, ensuring that all learners succeed in their chosen programmes.

  • Job Title: Health and Social Care Lecturer
  • Annual Salary: up to £40,305 pa FTE
  • Location: South  East London
  • Hours: 4 - 5 days per week including evenings 
  • Time: 8:30- 17:00pm 

Day to Day of the role if a Health and Social Care lecturer:

  • Deliver outstanding teaching and learning on a range of Health and Social Care programmes and constantly strive for excellence.
  • Produce Schemes of Work and assessment plans to support learners in achieving their full potential.
  • Embed Equality and Diversity, employability, employer engagement activities, and enterprise into the programmes.
  • Deliver exciting and innovative learning and undertake assessment using a broad range of methods.
  • Guide and tutor learners through the learning process, being accountable for target setting, action planning reviews, and positive progression outcomes.
  • Be fully accountable for the learner’s success, utilising data and the Management Information System to evaluate the quality of provision.
  • Ensure course/class data is provided to the Management Information System in a timely manner.
  • Actively participate as a member of a course team and, if required, lead such a team.
  • Be involved with learner recruitment via internal and external marketing and school liaison activities

Required Skills & Qualifications for the Health and Social Care role:

  • Recognised Teaching qualification
  • Degree or level 3 in Health and social care
  • Maths and English level 2 or equivalent
  • Experience supporting students as a tutor, teacher or trainer
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Flexibility and a proactive approach to work.
  • Enthusiasm for working with young people
  • Knowledge of safeguarding
