Finance Director

Chilworth Partnership (also trading as Venture Recruitment Partners) are delighted to be working exclusively with a large charity, based near Portsmouth, in their search for a Director of Finance. For the right candidate, this role could be offered on a part-time basis at c. 4 days a week. 

Reporting to the CEO and working closely with senior management, responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

• Advising CEO and Trustee Board on strategic financial issues, contributing to the strategic plan, risk management and highlighting opportunities for the business.
• Supporting strategy development with creation of robust financial business plans. 
• Supporting the development of a performance management framework aligned to organisational strategy, ensuring key performance indicators are identified, tracked, analysed and used to inform future planning.
• Ensuring effective financial controls are implemented maintained, including production of SORP statutory accounts, liaising with Auditors.
• Coordinate the financial aspects of grants, tenders and contracts, including budget development, expenditure tracking, and financial compliance reporting.
• Lead and supervise the payroll function, ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll for employees across the organisation.
• Ensuring preparation of the monthly, quarterly and annual management accounts pack to provide financial insight and monitor financial performance. 
• Manage and develop a small finance team. 

You will:

• Ideally be a Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, ACMA).
• Experience of developing and managing teams.
• Have Charity experience or a wider Not For Profit background.  
• Have bids and tenders experience.
• Have a proven background in thinking strategically and driving an organisation forwards, creating a value add finance function.
