Compliance Assistant - Not-for-Profit

Objective of the role:

As an administrative role with a strong customer service element, you will work in support of the SBP Compliance Manager, managing the independent audits approved on companies for the organisation’s programmes.

Utilising first class organisational skills gained in a customer-facing environment, you will primarily support approved licensed companies through the independent audit process to ensure compliance and promote the development of the programme globally.

Through efficient stewardship of the Programme, your contribution will significantly help to advance the organisation’s Vision, Mission, and Values.

Key responsibilities:

Assist the SBP Compliance Manager with the administration of the independent audits conducted on the companies licensed under the Programme, or other potential programmes.

Be responsible for the day-to-day account management of licenses after audit to ensure they are supported in resolving all issues raised, and the reputation and rigour of the programme is maintained.

Respond to independent auditors and existing companies, both on and offline, professionally and with a high level of customer service.

Work collaboratively with the other departments.

Ensure high quality and accurate records are maintained, in compliance with relevant information legislation.

Provide general support to the Sustainable Business Programmes department and assist with other similar work as required.

Maintain best practice surrounding customer care and data protection and ensure compliance with relevant information legislation such as GDPR.

At the request of any senior manager, undertake any other duties consistent with this role in support of the organisation.

Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to build and maintain positive and productive relationships.

Strong commitment to team working and an ability to work well with colleagues in different disciplines across the whole organisation.

First class written and verbal presentations skills, sufficient to effectively present the message to companies and partner organisations.

Strong and proven organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads to meet deadlines.

Excellent IT skills with moderate to advanced level Microsoft Word and Excel, and moderate level Outlook.

A positive and proactive approach to using new software.

Comfortable with handling and communicating basic scientific information and technical data.

Qualifications (IT/Academic/Vocational)

Educated to degree standard or equivalent.

Experience

Experience of maintaining high quality accurate records and of undertaking multiple administrative tasks, requiring an eye for detail.

Experience of managing a project with multiple priorities and timelines and of assimilating technical information.

Excellent communication skills and experience of successful networking with external partners.

Understanding and interest in the growing ethical consumer marketplace.

Expertise of working within a multi-disciplined team of staff.

Knowledge and experience of GDPR and data protection compliance in the workplace.

Specific Qualities

Willingness to travel within the UK for work purposes as required.

Knowledge of the issues affecting the organisation’s underlying mission and more broadly within the sector.

Desirable

Educated to degree standard or equivalent in a science related subject.

Experience with Salesforce or similar CRM software.
