• Salary Range: £30,722.74 to £37,059.78 (Pro Rata), Inclusive of London Weighting Bonus

We are seeking a dedicated Functional Skills English Tutor to join our team within offender learning. This is a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of learners, helping them improve not only their own lives but also those of their families and contribute positively to their local community. The role is based on-site in the vibrant London Borough of Greenwich.

• Raise the expectations and aspirations of learners, motivating them and fostering a sense of ownership over their learning journey.
• Deliver accredited and structured non-accredited programmes tailored to meet the needs and interests of learners.
• Work closely with learners to develop personalised learning plans that equip them with essential skills, knowledge, and behaviours for positive progression.
• Engage with a diverse group of learners, adapting teaching methods to suit their varying needs and learning styles.
• Monitor and assess learners’ progress, providing constructive feedback and support.

• Level 2 Maths and English qualifications, equivalent to a GCSE pass grade 9 to 4 (A* to C).
• Qualification in the specialist subject area of Functional Skills English.
• Proven track record of effective teaching within the subject specialism.
• Level 5 teaching qualification.
• Ability to gain, hold, and maintain a clean, enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
