Hays Accountancy & Finance are recruiting on behalf of their established & exclusive client who are a small group that have been running for over 130 years. They are looking for an Accountant to join their small team. Salary is £35,000 - £42,000 depending on experience + excellent benefits including 30 days annual leave, 9% pension contribution & annual bonus. This role is an office-based position, however 1 day a week working from home may be considered once you have passed probation. This employer will consider full-time and part-time options.
Your new role
Reporting to the Finance Director, you will complete a variety of financial responsibilities including monthly management accounting including analysis, balance sheet reconciliations & processing journals including prepayments & accruals. You will complete multi-currency cash flows, bank reconciliations, VAT returns, fixed asset register and year-end accounting. You will be involved in various process & system improvement projects. You will also assist with payroll and some HR responsibilities, but full training can be provided in these areas.
What you'll need to succeed
You will be an experienced Accountant or an Assistant Accountant looking to take the next step-up in their career. You will have a strong technical accounting background within management & financial accounting. You will have excellent IT skills including Excel & ideally Sage or Xero. You will have strong communication & organisational skills with the ability to meet strict deadlines with a high level of accuracy.
