Exams and Data Officer

We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Exams & Data Officer to play a key role in the administration and management of the school's exams processes. The ideal candidate will have a thorough understanding of JCQ regulations and the ability to ensure compliance while meeting Exam Board deadlines. This is a part-time role, working over 4 or 5 days, and is term time only plus 2 weeks.

This is an office based role working at a School in Hemel Hempstead.

Job Purpose:

  • Ensure adherence to JCQ regulations and inform the Head of any malpractice.
  • Facilitate the smooth running of all assessments within the School.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Ensure school compliance with JCQ regulations and readiness for inspections.
  • Respond promptly and sensitively to queries from pupils, staff, and parents.
  • Liaise with Examination Boards and JCQ to provide timely information.
  • Administer the Examinations Budget in consultation with the Acting Head of Senior School.
  • Maintain up-to-date records of qualifications and examination entries.
  • Employ, train, and manage a team of invigilators.
  • Review and update Examination policies annually.
  • Process examination entries for public examinations.
  • Support inspection processes and data collection for regulatory bodies.
  • Prepare for oral examinations and brief students on examination procedures.
  • Manage candidate numbers and registers in examination rooms.
  • Apply for special consideration in case of illness or injury.
  • Receive and process examination results and certificates.
  • Train teachers on mock examination invigilation requirements.
  • Organise and oversee mock and end-of-year examinations.
  • Update academic tracking data records and organise session logistics.
  • Ensure compliance with safeguarding and health and safety policies.

Qualifications, Experience, and Knowledge:

  • Mandatory: Excellent qualifications and skills.
  • Highly Desirable: Higher Level Business/Administration or Teaching qualification, experience in a busy school or administrative environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 suite and familiarity with School Management Information Systems.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong organisational and administrative abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Full time salary, depending on skills and experience, up to £32,900pa Actual salary, depending on skills and experience, based on 0.8 up to £22,068pa.
