Our client who was established in 2010 is a leading company in the renewable energy solutions for both commercial and residential buildings.

They are now looking for an experienced part time Financial Controller who can undertake all aspects of financial management. They are flexible with the working days and will offer working from home on two of the days per week.

What we need from you as a Financial Controller:

  • Proven working experience as a Financial Controller
  • 5+ years of overall combined accounting and finance experience
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
  • Skilled with the consolidation of Group accounts
  • Experienced creating financial statements
  • Be fully converse using a general ledger function and the month-end/year end close process
  • Excellent accounting software user (SAGE) and have administration skills

Qualifications needed:

  • Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) or the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW)

What the role involves:

As Financial Controller you will be involved in a mix of corporate accounting, consolidation of group accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget, and forecasts preparation, as well as development of internal control policies and procedures. Other duties include:

  • Oversee all company accounts
  • Create monthly and annual reports to identify results, trends, and financial forecasts
  • Manage cash flow by tracking transactions and regularly reviewing internal reports
  • Supervise and manage the Finance Assistant
  • Suggest updates and improvements on accounting systems, including payroll and invoicing
  • Ensure that all financial transactions are properly recorded, filed and reported
  • Establish and implement financial reporting systems to comply with regulations and legislation
  • Ensure that proper auditing takes place to ensure compliance with all regulations
  • Review all financial plans and budgets regularly to look for cost reduction opportunities and ensure accuracy
  • Working with the Board to develop budgets and financial plans for the company based on research and data reports
  • Report to the Board timely and accurate financial information and advise them on financial risk management

Salary/hours: £30k-£35k full time equivalent salary. Hours: 3 days per week. 9am to 5pm (1 hour for lunch). Hours are flexible and suitable if you are juggling school times.
