Formed in 2015, Reed Wellbeing has expanded rapidly, developing, and delivering evidence-based lifestyle and wellbeing programmes that help people improve their health. Guided by psychologists, dietitians, physical activity experts and other specialists our local teams support people to make sustainable, positive behavioural changes using engaging and interactive interventions that address individuals’ needs.

This role is offered on a Fixed Term Contract until 01/10/2026 working on a 12 hours part time basis. 

What the job is about:

Health & Wellbeing Coaches are critical to the successful delivery of Reed Wellbeing’s world class evidence-based health and wellbeing behavioural lifestyle interventions. Comprising of one-to-one health and wellbeing interventions, the Lead Health & Wellbeing Coach will be responsible for delegated and short-term cover-based delivery of NHS Type 2 Diabetes Path to Remission Programme, to agreed quality standards to support participants in achieving a healthier lifestyle and diabetes management.

Your main responsibilities would be:

  • Co-ordinating Health and Wellbeing Coaches, ensuring they are supported and are up-to-date on relevant training
  • Co-ordinating Venues taking into consideration the amount of participant referrals, viability of the venue and possible price negotiations
  • Session delivery will primarily be delivered by the Health & Wellbeing Coaches, however the Lead Health & Wellbeing Coach may be required to deliver their own programmes, remote catch-ups as well as covering for coaches on annual leave or illness.
  • Delivering group sessions in accordance to our curriculum, resources and quality standards, empowering our participants to achieve sustained behavioural improvements in their lifestyle and health
  • Database and spreadsheet management
  • Measuring, monitoring and reporting on participants’ progress and programme performance on your programme.
  • Ensure that external venues are appropriately sourced, taking into account participant location, cost and risk assessment, in consultation with the Health & Wellbeing Manager.
  • Create a constructive and confidential learning environment.
  • Booking and rearranging participants attendance on various Reed Wellbeing services.
  • Contribute to identifying and implementing areas of improvement in Reed Wellbeing’s delivery and internal processes
  • Support with co-ordinating and delivering programme promotion activities

Required Skills & Experience:

Essential Attainments:

  • Experience of one-on-one coaching sessions.
  • Level 3 qualification in nutrition
  • Ability to establish an effective and appropriate rapport with programme participants who need to achieve and maintain lifestyle changes.
  • An understanding of and/or interest in health-related physical activity, healthy eating and health related behaviour change.
  • Active listening skills whilst maintaining a non-judgemental perspective on participant’s lifestyle, weight and health.
  • Ability to communicate sensitively and accurately, information regarding an individual’s health and weight.
  • Ability to coach individuals and groups to identify solutions and develop knowledge and skills to support behavioural change.


Essential Criteria:
  • A minimum of 2 A-Levels or an equivalent Level 3 Diploma. GCSE English Language at a minimum of a Grade B (or equivalent Level 2 qualification). OR achievement of a Level 2 in Literacy Assessment at interview stage.
  • Lead Health and Wellbeing Adviser’s attributes include Selling & Influencing, Advice & Guidance, Coaching and training skills, Planning & Decision Making, Flexibility & Adaptability
  • Willing to take on evening and weekend work and flexible with travel across the designated region. Reed Wellbeing offer TOIL and expenses to support this.


Desirable Skills & Experience:
  • Level 3 Training qualification (eg. PTTLs/Award in Education & Training or equivalent).
  • Experience co-ordinating a number of events / programmes at any one time.
  • Experience of working in a customer focussed environment.
  • Experience delivering health based interventions either to groups or one to one.
  • Fluency in community languages.
