Finance Director - Part Time

£55,000 - £68,000 per annum pro rata
22.5 hour per week

Our client, a leading charitable organisation within the maritime sector, is currently seeking a Finance Director on a part-time, permanent basis.

As the Finance Director, your role will involve delivering operational and strategic financial oversight, along with offering hands-on support to the Finance Team while reporting financial results and strategies to both the Executive Team and Senior Management.

The responsibilities:

• Strategic financial planning, including forecasts and advice, and implementation of annual budgets.
• Ensure organisational liquidity by overseeing funds, optimising investments, initiating forex transactions, and preparing cash flow forecasts.
• Quarterly report variances, including KPIs and cash flow, and provide financial reports to Senior Management as needed.
• Oversee VAT compliance, manage year-end accounts, and liaise with auditors for charity law, HMRC, and company legislation.
• Manage grant applications, address legal matters, and negotiate contracts as required.
• Supervise accounts, payroll, and administer pension schemes.
• Report results and strategy to the Executive Team, ensuring financial operations are prioritised.
• Authorise budgets, contribute to promotions, monitor regulations, and provide salary input.
• Perform Finance Team management, reporting into the CEO.

The Candidate:

• Fully qualified CIMA, ACCA, ACA or CIPFA.
• Experienced in producing management accounts and charity sector regulations.
• Strong negotiation skills, significant senior management experience, and a proactive strategic mindset.
• Proficient in change management and continuous improvement, with demonstrated leadership and effective communication skills for stakeholder engagement and collaboration
