Role: Concierge Security Officer

Location: Croydon, CR0 1 - YOU MUST LIVE WITHIN A 40 MINUTE TRAVEL TIME OF THIS POSTCODE

Hours: Nights only

Shift Pattern: Friday to Sunday (inclusive)

Payrate: £14.75 per hour

Our customer is a forward-thinking privately-owned company who are a leading provider of professional integrated bespoke security and facilities management services, giving their clients a flexible and scalable approach to addressing their security and FM requirements in their businesses across an array of sectors including educational settings / student accommodation, healthcare, charitable, corporate / estate management, warehouse / distribution, social housing, utilities, shopping centres / retail parks.

Duties: (this list is not exhaustive)

  • Be available to residents at all times or ensure proper 'signposting’ when away from the desk.
  • Keep on top of cleaning throughout the night, to maintain the highest standards of communal areas.
  • Personally deal with any maintenance issues and problems identified out of hours, understanding the nature of more serious issues and the proper means to report and resolve them, ensuring they would be resolved within acceptable timescales.
  • Parcel Management: to be responsible for all deliveries to main reception, by receiving, safekeeping and issuing of all parcels/registered mail in line with the company procedure.
  • Give a clear and concise handover at the end of the shift to any follow-on team members, highlighting any events that have occurred and make follow-on staff aware of any forthcoming events.
  • Manage car parking to ensure everything runs smoothly.
  • Key Management: to issue keys only to correct personnel/residents whilst recording the signing in and out of keys in line with the company procedure.
  • Co-ordinate, instruct and allow access for services to the development, such as for utility companies, refuse collection, deliveries, repairs and maintenance.
  • Assist other departments within the building when required.

Handling General Enquiries

  • Handle general enquiries, queries and complaints from residents.
  • Ensure accurate enquiry data is input onto the property management software in a timely manner.

Monitor CCTV (if onsite)/ Visitor Screening

  • Check and screen all visitors and guests and any contractor staff, ensuring they have permission to be present in the building. Report any suspicious/unusual behaviour, calling the police if necessary.

Building Patrol / Safety Checks

  • Carry out regular building and safety checks to ensure the working order and condition of lighting, heating, fire control system, alarm and smoke ventilation, lifts, water tanks and pumps, doors, windows, gates, access control and security.

Critical skills required

  • Excellent communication and listening skills.
  • Physically fit to be able to walk and stand for long periods of time.

  • Ability to work independently and on own initiative, yet follow instruction and procedure as required.

  • Must hold a valid SIA Licence.
