Accounts Manager Part or Full time

Our Client , a rewarding start-up business based in Carlisle, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Accounts Manager to join their growing team. This is an progressive opportunity for the successful individual to play a pivotal role in a high-demand service sector operation, working closely with the Directors/Owners from the outset. As the sole finance person, you will contribute significantly to the day-to-day running of the office and monthly accounting processes, leveraging Xero accounting software.

Role Purpose: Reporting directly to the Directors, the Accounts Manager will be responsible for managing all financial aspects, from invoicing to month-end close. The role involves close collaboration with internal and external partners to ensure accuracy in invoicing, payroll, and cash flow, providing invaluable visibility to the Directors for informed decision-making and business growth.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Produce monthly financial reports, identifying income/expenditure for each cost centre.
  • General bookkeeping using Xero, including journal entries, accruals, and prepayments.
  • Maintain the Fixed Asset register.
  • Invoicing for purchase and sales ledger.
  • Weekly bank reconciliation and cash management.
  • Credit control as required.
  • Undertake administration tasks and provide general support within the small team of a newly formed organisation.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Excellent accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Minimum of 3 years in a similar role.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • Strong communication skills with a confident approach to work.
  • Proven ability to identify and implement new systems and processes for efficiency improvement.

Salary & Benefits: This permanent role offers a salary in the range of £27,000-£30,000, with 32 days annual leave (including bank holidays) and a 3% employer pension contribution. The successful candidate will play a key role in the organisation's first year of trading, with anticipated rapid growth.
