Anglian Water offers a flexible approach, this role provides you the flexibility to work from home and from an Anglian Water office. Your base office location will be Huntingdon, with the expectation of being in the office two days a week. This role is 22.2 hours over 4 days (ideally Tuesday - Friday).

Supporting our People

An opportunity has arisen to join our specialist Employee Relations team providing effective Employee Relations advice to our business stakeholders. Working closely with our business you will provide them with support in managing our ER processes and procedures, providing guidance and advice.

You will report to an Employee Relations Manager and be part of our centre of excellence. You will be the first point of contact for employee relations cases and general queries relating to policy and procedures, and be responsible for providing high quality a professional ER case management service. As a trusted advisor you will be providing advice and guidance to ensure our people managers are supported to effectively manage with their people management issues, in both informal and formal processes.

You will balance best practice with the need to support sound business decisions, whilst building strong working relationships to be able to persuade and reassure managers on a specific course of action, ensuring all implications are considered.

What does it take to be an Employee Relations Advisor?

  • A graduate or Level 5 CIPD qualified or equivalent HR management qualification or experience is essential
  • Demonstrable experience of advising managers across a broad range of ER issues is key to be able to deliver in this role
  • Experience in a similar role, ideally within a fast paced, multisite organisation
  • Ability to build effective relationships across all business levels and experience of working with unions
  • A resilient individual who can manage emotional and distressing situations
  • It would be an advantage if you had previous experience of caseload management along with people management skills
  • A logical thinker with the ability to problem solve, work to changing timeframes and reactive situations
  • Evidence of being proficient in MS Office applications and the ability to interpret and analyse numerical/statistical data
  • When required you will be expected to travel across the AW region
  • Proven up to date experience of Employment Law knowledge
