Reed Business Support are working with a well-known and highly respected charitable organisation that have an exciting new opportunity for a part-time (21 hours)  Regional Health & Safety Lead.

Role- Regional Health & Safety Lead

Location- Edinburgh (North)

Work type- Part-time

Salary- £30,000 (pro rata over 21 hours)

Purpose of job-

To be responsible for the effective and efficient management of all Health of Safety in Scotland. To ensure that the services and staff in Scotland are supported to deliver an effective, efficient and safe service through the coordination and management of Autism Initiatives’ property and facilities.

Health & Safety

  • Ensure that the Health & Safety and Fire Safety Policies, and Corporate Procedures are being adhered to through Service Monitoring and Inspections
  • Ensure that all accidents/incidents have been effectively and efficiently recorded and reported to a good standard, and further investigations undertaken
  • Check that local Stay Safe Folders are being managed to a high standard
  • Ensure that suitable H&S advice is being given and consultation undertaken, where required
  • Undertake H&S Regional Reports for the Head of H&S, and provide a quarterly summary
  • To act as a point of contact between Head of Health and Safety and the region
  • To provide updates and attend Business Partner Meetings

Property

  • To support senior managers in Scotland in the management of property and facilities
  • Ensure tenancies are of an appropriate standard in accordance to our social landlord status (this will include regular property visits throughout Scotland)
  • The recruitment and management of contractors & suppliers (where required) who work on or in our premises
  • To coordinate major property projects ( refurbishments, opening and closure of facilities)
  • To act as the main link between all services and maintenance contractors
  • To oversee ordering of equipment and service contracts
  • To coordinate the commissioning of all repairs and maintenance
  • To ensure all services have and are making use of an appropriate routine maintenance schedules
  •  To maintain records of relevant property information
  • To support managers to maintain an overview of property related costs and report on variances to planned maintenance and repair budgets
  • To undertake pre & post inspections on repairs
