We’re looking for a Chef to join our friendly team at Winkworth Arboretum.

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, 5 days out of 7 including weekends and Bank Holidays. Typically between 8.00am - 4.00pm so no evenings or split-shifts.
Salary: £24,843 per annum
Duration: Permanent
Interview date: 2nd, 3rd, 4th or 5th May 2024
Potential start date: Construction of the new visitor centre with a brand new café and kitchen is due to complete in June/July 2024, however, we'd love to get people started sooner with the view of completing inductions at nearby places.
What it's like to work hereReporting to the Food & Beverage Manager, you'll be based at Winkworth Arboretum with some line management responsibility of 2 part-time cooks.
Joining our team at this exciting time, you'll be given a full induction with time spent both onsite in our existing facilities and offsite at other places to gain full understanding of National Trust Food & Beverage systems and ways of working while the new building is completed. Once access is gained to the new building, you'll play a pivotal role in leading the team through this change and setting the new business up for success.

What you'll be doing Your main focus is the kitchen, a busy and creative hub. You’ll be working within the framework of our ‘National Trust Cookbook’ to prepare delicious food from scratch using fresh, seasonal ingredients. Your food will be served directly to visitors.The National Trust has the motto ‘For everyone, for ever’ at its heart.
