Part Time Legal Cashier

My client a small sized legal firm based in Central London are currently looking for a permanent Legal Cashier to join their friendly accounts team. This role will be based in the office 5 days a week. The role is working in a team of 3, reporting into the Finance Manager. 

Duties: 

Conduct daily banking functions including client and office receipts.

Organise and execute telegraphic transfers/CHAPS/BACS payments, ensuring proper authorisation and approval by a partner.

Issue cheques from client and office accounts and perform inter-account transfers.

Manage the purchase ledger, liaise with suppliers, and ensure timely payment of invoices.

Post disbursement invoices and journal entries to nominal accounts.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date client and office account ledgers, posting all transactions regularly.

Address daily accounting queries from Partners, Legal Staff, and Secretaries.

Undertake credit control and bad debt collection activities when required.

Ensure strict compliance with Solicitors Accounts Rules.

Perform general administration tasks, including filing and archiving.

Carry out additional tasks as requested by the Finance Manager.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Proven experience in legal cashiering 

Familiarity with banking transactions and payment systems (telegraphic transfers, CHAPS, BACS).

Strong understanding of Solicitors Accounts Rules.

Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.

Proficient in using accounting software and MS Office.

Good communication skills for liaising with various departments and suppliers.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

The working hours are 9am-5.30pm 

Reed £30,000 - £35,000 per annum, pro-rata, inc benefits Central London
