Support Worker

The role

Salary: £14,748 - £14,992 pro rata ( £13.21 - £13.43 per hour (inclusive rate)
Working Pattern: Part-time 24 hours per week

Enhancements:Weekend working - Time & half, Bank Hols - Double time Night enhancement 8pm - 10pm shifts
Contract: Permanent
Location: Ball Tree Croft, Sompting

Key Skills

Ability to interpret information, such as service complaints, & then redirect them to the appropriate person to provide quick & accurate resolution.

Good communication & interpersonal skills in order to provide clear & concise advice & guidance to a range of people.
Ability to deal appropriately with expressive behaviour from the people we support, & respond sensitively to their families & carers.
Ability to build relationships with people from a wide variety of cultural, religious & ethnic backgrounds.
Ability to work as part of a team completing shared tasks in order to deliver a service to others.

Qualifications/experience

  • Basic literacy and numeracy skills, to record & document activities in the provider support plans
  • Basic understanding of the needs of the people we support & their rights as an individual
  • Demonstrable successful experience of working as part of a team
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety practice, First Aid & Fire procedure, Manual Handling
  • NVQ 2/Diploma in Care or equivalent qualification
  • Previous experience of working in a care setting & with people who have a disability or are vulnerable
  • Previous experience of running group activities
