Salary: £26,937.29 per annum, £11,493.24 (pro rata)
Working Hours: Part-Time 16 hours per week.
Working Pattern: Working Saturday & Sunday from 11am -7pm

In this role you will be preparing food and set up the serving area daily for mealtimes in the Arlington dining area, you will ensure the timely daily production of food as advertised on the menu, meet customer meal requirements for food allergy, special diets or cultural diets. The post holder will work on a rota over 7 days.

Role Profile.

Job Purpose and Background

The candidate will be highly motivated and able to work to a high standard independently and experience of working in a commercial kitchen environment. Principle Responsibilities

  • Prepare food and set up the serving area daily for mealtimes in the Arlington dining area.
  • Ensuring the timely daily production of food as advertised on the menu, meet customer meal requirements for food allergy, special diets or cultural diets.
  • Be responsible for daily food service to customers at evening meal times.
  • Alongside the Catering Manager take responsibility for the daily operations of the kitchen, providing leadership and direction in the kitchen.
  • Work with the Catering Manager to ensure all recipes, food preparations and presentations meet the dining areas specifications and commitment to quality and costs
  • To ensure weekly stocktakes and other weekly administration are completed as directed
  • To collate and report weekly key performance information and customer feedback to develop customer relationships
  • Maintain a safe, orderly, clean kitchen and storage areas.
  • Demonstrate by example using correct food handling techniques.
  • To deputise for the Catering Manager as and when required
  • To perform any other reasonable duties as requested by your line management or the organisation
  • Ensure all compliance records are completed and maintained in good order
  • To conduct oneself and all interactions to promote respect and dignity at the core of communication and actions
  • To attend training courses as required.

Eesntial Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Assist with Menu planning
  • Ensure all food items are portion sized correctly
  • Ensure kitchen and storage areas are kept clean and organised
  • Support the Catering Manager with product ordering
  • Support the Catering Manager with maintaining inventories
  • Stocktaking and accountability
  • COSHH 'Control of Substances Hazardous to Health’ trained and aware
  • Able to undergo DBS check/previous DBS number
  • Demonstrate good communications skills at all levels.

Desirable Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Knowledge of health and safety
  • Level 2 food safety certificate and or another appropriate recognised food safety qualification
  • Understand of correct use of major kitchen equipment, including stoves, refrigeration and hot service storage
  • A minimum of 2 years working in a food preparation environment
  • Commitment to quality service and food knowledge
  • IT skills including use of Microsoft packages such as Word, Excel
  • Strong time management skills and ability to prioritise workload
  • Ability to work in pressured and deadline driven environment
  • Able to take direction from the catering manager and support team
  • Demonstrates strong leadership skills and is a team player
