Accounts Payable Analyst part-time

Our client, a major UK retail bank, provides every day banking services to over 17 million retail customers. The banks expertise and services span across Business Services, Corporate banking, Wealth Management, Group Functions, Retail and Investment Banking.

On behalf of this organisation, AMS are looking for an Accounts Payable Analyst for an inital 3-month contract (with potential for extension) based remotely (with occassional visits in the London office).


Purpose of the Role:

To work as part of a small, friendly team, where you will own the operation of the purchase ledger and from time to time, the sales and general ledgers. You will support the Senior Finance Assistant & Management Accountant with reporting and undertake other ad hoc accounting duties.


Responsibilities of the role:

  • Responsibility for the group purchase ledger function
  • Processing supplier invoices
  • Ensuring all invoices are approved by budget holders
  • Monitoring inbox and responding to queries and requests within agreed timescales
  • Management of month-end checks and closure of purchase ledger
  • Customer and supplier reconciliations as and when required
  • Ad hoc tasks as required

What we require from the candidate:

  • Knowledge of Sage 200, Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Proven experience working in a Purchase Ledger / Accounts Payable / Accounts Assistant type role
  • Excellent multitasking skills
  • Good communication and time management skills
  • Flexible approach and a 'can do' attitude


This client will only accept workers operating via an Umbrella or PAYE engagement model.
