What You'll Bring:

Day to Day You’ll Be: 

  • Work closely with product management and product owners, to define product roadmaps and requirements to deliver against functional commitments and non-functional needs.

  • Identify, control and mitigate risk within products, services and product development practices.

  • Work closely with product stakeholders, develop an effective operating model with continuous product development and improvement through iterative release processes.

  • Plan the product development priorities, establish and maintain effective monitoring and controls and ensure effective control of risk in balance with business need against accepted risk.

  • Improve product development practices to manage product development within the software development and release lifecycle methods, ensuring all product and service releases meet Product Development Lifecycle requirements .

  • Ensure resource availability across product teams, and identify areas of risk and resource exposure. 

  • Create and manage a skills and competency matrix to ensure efficient release of products.

  • Coordinate weekly updates and monthly reports.

  • Establish, coach, motivate and manage a management team of the product development teams.

Essential Skills & Experience: 

  • Lead a product development function with the product development organisation to meet the development requirements of the product and technology strategy.

  • Ability to define product development tasks and resolve resource and infrastructure inter-dependencies across multiple product teams.

  • Direct and provide decision-based leadership on product development and technical priorities, ensuring effective execution of agreed plans.

  • Ability to communicate at all levels and manage a complex, cross-functional product development function.

  • Ability to define and improve a firm foundation for continuous product development.

  • Experience of recruiting and managing third-party suppliers and remote product development teams.

  • Competent in the identification of risks, defining plans to control or remediate risk and continuously measure and reduce risk across the function.

  • Competent in establishing practices to measure and ensure compliance.
