Accounts Manager

Our client in Rochester is seeking an experienced Accounts Manager (this role is a dual role position working as bookkeeper up to trial balance and undertaking office manager duties) - the role will be working part time from the office location, no hybrid working available.

Location: Rochester

Working Hours: proposed hours 22 pw, Monday to Thursday inc

Suggested hours - 9.30am to 3pm (no break)

Holiday Entitlement: 25 days + BH, pro rata

Salary: C£30,000 pa pro rata

Accounts Manager overall objective:

To be responsible for the day-to-day management of the company’s accounting records. Create and implement new working practices/systems to improve the business profit. Working closely with and reporting to the business owners and Directors.

Accounts Manager responsibilities will include but not limited to:

All accounts duties - banking, reconciling/controlling petty cash - credit cards, VAT returns, preparation of P11D etc -currently using Sage

  • Sales Ledger
  • Purchase Ledger
  • Credit control - essential
  • Health and Safety and all office procedures
  • Payroll
  • Processing, the monthly payroll for accountants
  • Prepare wage journal.
  • Updating the accountant of any changes in staff details

General office/company administration

  • To keep the advertising budget spreadsheets up to date- essential
  • Responsible for Sage back up each week.
  • Order office stationery and branch supplies.
  • To open and send post.
  • To file all order processing paperwork.
  • To answer accounts telephone calls and to assist branch calls if necessary.
  • General PA duties to the Directors.
  • Office/company administration duties - car insurance/tax etc, toll charges any other duties as required to support the company Directors and smooth running of the business.
  • To be responsible for ensuring that all company documentation is securely filed e g insurance policies, and legal documents.
