Facilities Assistant

Summary

We're looking for a Facilities Assistant to join the Herefordshire team. 

This is predominantly a cleaning role, ensuring all operational areas are clean and looked after for the team of staff and volunteers, but also would involve alarm tests, reading meters, checking, and refilling supplies, basic maintenance such as replacing lightbulbs, moving small items around site and ensuring the meeting room is clean and ready for bookings.

You'll be working 12 hours per week, during normal working hours 9-5. This could be either Monday, Wednesday and Friday 4 hours per day or alternatively Monday and Thursday 6 hours per day. Your base will be at Brockhampton, but you may be asked to help occasionally at all Herefordshire locations which include Croft Castle, Berrington Hall and The Weir Garden.

What you'll be doing

As the Facilities Assistant, you'll assist with the day-to-day cleanliness and presentation the National Trust’s operational buildings and outdoor spaces. You’ll turn your practical hand to all sorts of cleaning and minor maintenance ensuring all our facilities are kept in good working order. You'll also be asked to help with some manual work such as unloading deliveries.

Duties such as cleaning, reading meters, basic alarm tests, checking supplies and litter picking will form a core part of your role, both inside and outdoors. One of our offices is heated by log burner, you'll be de-ashing the boiler regularly. You’ll ensure the highest standards of customer service across the area by always implementing a ‘customer comes first’ attitude. Brockhampton has three operational areas you'll  look after, Lower Brockhampton, Upper Brockhampton and Greenfields so having a vehicle is essential to get between them, mileage is paid for any travel on site or to other properties.
