Employee Relations Advisor 4 days pro rata

Reporting into the Senior Employee Relations Manager, you will be responsible for managing, advising and facilitating the resolution of your own ER case load of formal resolution, disciplinary and research misconduct investigations. You will support and advise chairs/panels at probation, performance, flexible working and sickness hearings and appeals. You will also contribute to the review and development of policies and procedures and undertake related tasks and projects. As the ER Adviser, you will work proactively with the ER team to deliver a seamless, timely and quality ER service.

Your key responsibilities

  • Provide advice and guidance on employment-related matters including contractual issues, employee relations and HR related matters in accordance with the HR policies and procedures, legislation and best practice referring to the Senior ER Manager as appropriate.
  •  Provide guidance and advice on disciplinary, formal resolution and research misconduct investigations, supporting Investigating Officers with the conduct and format of meetings. Drafting questions, reports and correspondence to support the process.
  • Manage formal employee relations processes, referring to the Senior ER Manager as appropriate.

Projects

  • Undertake, or contribute to, specific HR/ER-related projects as requested by Deputy HR Director (Employee Relations and Policy) or Senior Employee Relations Manager.

Other Responsibilities

  • Communicate the work of the ER section internally via contribution to the ER newsletters, website, and social media as appropriate.
  • Attend and participate at meetings and seminars and facilitate/deliver workshops as required.
  • Contribute to the development of HR policies and procedures.
  • Promote and facilitate good equal opportunities practice across all areas of employment.

Hybrid role - 2 days in the office (flexible dependant on case meetings)

Wednesday is the mandatory day in the office
