Our Culture and Events Service is looking for a passionate and dedicated Senior Project Officer (Culture and Events) to join our team and help deliver impactful cultural initiatives that align with Southwark’s Borough Plan.

About the Role:

As Senior Project Officer (Culture and Events), you’ll be responsible for managing and delivering key projects across arts, events and Film/TV location services, ensuring each project meets its objectives and reflects best practice in diversity, inclusion, and accessibility. You’ll lead on project planning, stakeholder engagement, procurement, and evaluation, while helping to secure funding and manage risk. This is a two-year fixed-term role, working 21.6 hours per week (three days).

About You:

We’re looking for someone who can bring energy, creativity, and strategic thinking to the team, with a proven ability to manage cultural projects from inception to evaluation. You’ll have:

  • Experience leading and delivering successful public-facing culture or events projects
  • Strong project management and planning skills, including budget oversight and reporting
  • Ability to engage effectively with internal teams, community stakeholders, and external partners
  • A commitment to embedding anti-racism, equity, and accessibility in all aspects of your work
  • Confidence in procurement, contract management, and funding applications
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

The Culture and Events team plays a central role in shaping Southwark’s vibrant cultural scene. Our work supports the Borough Plan’s ambitions by delivering inclusive, community-driven projects that reflect the rich diversity of the area.
