Salary: upto £17.00 per hour / 21 Hours a week/ 3 days - Hybrid opportunity

Evolve Recruitment are hiring a Part time Accounts/Payroll professional to join a busy organisation based in Chelsea. Our client is seekinga detail-oriented and experienced candidate to manage and coordinate all aspects of our client's payroll operations. The successful candidate will work closely with an external payroll provider to ensure timely, accurate, and compliant payroll processing as well as payment/posting of invoices in a timely manner. This role is key in supporting the business with a smooth and reliable payroll/accounts function. This will be a part-time 3 days per week position, at least 1/2 of these 3 days need to be office based. The successful applicant will be expected to have some flexibility in availability for exceptional urgent payroll matters if they arise outside regular days in the 2nd and 3rd weeks of the month when payroll is processed.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Purchase ledger experience
  • General accounts background
  • Proven experience managing payroll processes.
  • Previous experience working with an external payroll provider is essential.
  • Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy in data handling.
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and meet deadlines.
  • Experience working in a small SME office is a plus, though not required.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexible approach to adapt to business needs and evolving priorities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and payroll-related systems (experience with [insert payroll software if applicable] is advantageous).

Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end payroll processing for all employees, liaising with external payroll provider.
  • Ensure accurate and timely submission of payroll data and reports.
  • Validate and review payroll inputs, including hours worked, bonuses, deductions, and leave balances.
  • Maintain and update payroll records, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and internal policies.
  • Respond to employee payroll-related queries and resolve discrepancies.
  • Coordinate with HR and Finance teams for data alignment and reporting.
  • Keep up to date with relevant legislation and ensure payroll practices remain compliant.
  • Assist with the preparation of payroll reports for management.
  • Support ad hoc administrative and finance-related tasks as required.
  • Experience working in a small SME office nice to have but not necessity
  • Able to adopt a flexible approach to meet business needs
