Specialist Notetaker

A notetaker provides students with accurate, comprehensive notes of lectures and other academic sessions, acting as a vital support for those who may have difficulty taking notes themselves. This role involves listening carefully, observing visual aids, and summarising information accurately and efficiently, often in a typed format. The notetaker may also need to adapt the notes to the student's specific needs and preferences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Creating notes:

    Taking detailed notes during lectures, seminars, and other academic events.

  • Types of notes:

    Providing notes that are either live (during the event) or a later typed record.

  • Accuracy and clarity:

    Ensuring notes are accurate, clear, and easy to understand.

  • Adaptation:

    Adjusting the format and content of notes to meet the individual needs of the student.

  • Delivery:

    Providing the notes to the student in a timely manner and in the agreed-upon format.

  • Professionalism:

    Maintaining confidentiality, professionalism, and respect for the student at all times.
