Day-to-Day of the Role of a Lecturer in English:
Deliver engaging and effective lessons in GCSE and Functional Skills English to a diverse group of vocational learners.
Utilise a variety of teaching methods to cater to different learning styles and needs.
Monitor and assess student progress, providing timely and constructive feedback.
Participate in curriculum development and stay updated with the latest educational practices and standards.
Engage with students to foster a positive learning environment and encourage their academic and personal growth.
Commit to teaching one evening per week
Required Skills & Qualifications for the English Lecturer role:
A degree or equivalent in English or a related subject area is preferable. Candidates with a Level 3 qualification and at least 2 years of proven successful teaching experience in English/Literacy/ESOL/EFL are also encouraged to apply.
Experience in teaching/tutoring GCSE, Functional Skills English, ESOL, EFL, or literacy.
Ability to engage and motivate 16 to 18-year-olds from various vocational backgrounds.
Possession of a Level 5 teaching qualification recognised by the FE sector, or willingness to undertake teacher training supported by the College.
Strong organisational and communication skills.
