My client is seeking an experienced HR Generalist to join their successful SME. This part-time role reports directly to the Managing Director and is pivotal in delivering people management strategies that support the organisation's strategic aims. The HR Manager will have a blend of strategic and operational responsibilities, providing expert advice and support on all HR matters. This office-based role requires a proactive individual who can effectively manage HR activities across multiple locations including the UK and Belgium.
Day-to-day of the role:
Work closely with senior management to prepare and implement HR strategies that align with the organisation's goals.
Provide support on HR policies and procedures to managers and team leaders.
Communicate with staff across all levels, offering guidance and assistance on HR-related matters.
Stay updated with employment legislation in the UK and Belgium.
Oversee the entire recruitment process including creating job descriptions, drafting contracts, and managing inductions.
Handle investigations and complex employee relations issues such as redundancy and grievances, ensuring compliance with best practices.
Develop and maintain HR policies and systems.
Monitor and enhance performance appraisal systems.
Maintain accurate employee records including maternity, paternity, absence, and sickness, and provide regular reports to senior management.
Manage HR personnel contracts and files ensuring they are up-to-date.
Identify training needs and ensure all training is current.
Evaluate market data to ensure the organisation's competitiveness in salary reviews, compensation, and benefits packages.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Associate CIPD qualification (or part-qualified) or equivalent.
Previous experience at a senior HR level, ideally within an SME environment.
Proven HR generalist experience, capable of managing both strategic and operational aspects.
Up-to-date knowledge of employment law in the UK.
Ability to work autonomously with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
