Strong leadership and clinical  skills are essential for this post.

The Role 

To support registered nurses, coach and develop junior care team to deliver exceptional quality care to the people who live with us and the families we support.

Always working under the direction of the registered nurse and collaboratively with all internal and external staffing teams & agencies to ensure appropriate care and best practice in the care home. Demonstrates a clear focus on the company ‘purpose’ to be a positive inspiration and influence for the people we work with, live with and support. In turn, ensuring professional development and maintaining the NMC code of conduct. This will help attract new hires, develop existing staff, and ensure a clear and accountable focus

Accountabilities 

  • Always working under the guidance of a Registered Nurse, working within the scope of own professional competence, refer and seek support as required.
  • Adhere to the NMC ‘The Code’ (2015) and ensure requirements for revalidation are met.
  • Observe the NMC legal and professional requirements in relation to accountability and delegation.
  • Recognise signs and symptoms which may indicate the presence of serious medical conditions and take appropriate action, keeping the Nurse in Charge informed at all times.
  • Continuously adhering to Nurse Associate responsibilities and alert Nurse in Charge to quality issues.
  • Coordinate and delegate tasks on each shift ensuring appropriate skill mix.
  • Develops and inspires junior teams to achieve personal development growth within the care home and create future succession opportunities.
  • Obtain feedback and reflect on own performance, level of skill in line with NMC revalidation requirements to identify strengths and areas for further development
