Role: School Receptionist - Part Time, Job Share

Location: Wokingham

Working pattern: Permanent Role

Term Time + 8 weeks during school holidays

• Wed 12:30 -17:30
• Thurs & Fri 00 - 17.30,
  • Total hours 23 hours per week

During school holidays:

• Mon to Fri 9:00 - 14:00
  • Total hours: 25 hours per week

They are seeking a cheerful and professional School Receptionist to join their dynamic team in Wokingham.

About the Role

As the face of the school, you will play a pivotal role in creating a welcoming atmosphere for students, parents, and visitors. This job share position allows you the flexibility to balance your professional and personal commitments while being an integral part of the school community.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the first point of contact for the School, welcoming visitors and responding to telephone and email enquiries in a helpful manner
• Registering and signing in all visitors/contractors, following safeguarding procedures
• Communicate with parents regarding and passing on information between parents and teachers accurately and efficiently
• Receive parcels and deliveries; manage both incoming and outgoing post
• Ensure the Reception Area is kept smart and tidy
• Support the School Administrator with tasks as required, such as student attendance;
• Assist with admissions related tasks, including preparations for and assistance at Open Mornings and other related school events
• Maintain the internal telephone list an

Additional duties and responsibilities

• Be prepared to attend training as necessary ensuring all legislative training is kept up to date
• To have a working knowledge of all relevant Policies and Procedures
• To establish effective working relationships with professional colleagues and other staff, as appropriate
• Undertake all duties with due regard of the School's Health and Safety Policy and the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and all other relevant legislation

The Ideal Candidate

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• A friendly demeanour and a passion for working with children and families.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer skills.
• Previous experience in the education sector is an advantage but not essential.
