An excellent opportunity has arisen for a part time Finance Manager (2 days per week) to work for this successful charity. Your duties will be as follows:
Responsible for financial management and reporting, strategic planning and operations
Preparation of statutory accounts, year end financial statements and audit papers
Responsible for monthly management accounts, cash flow forecasts and financial performance reports
Developing, monitoring and managing annual budgets, ensuring they are in line with strategic objectives
Implementing and maintaining robust budgetary control systems to monitor spending against budgets
Balance sheet reconciliations and ensuring accurate maintenance of ledgers
Overseeing the administration of funding
Leading VAT management and ensuring compliance and timely submissions
Authorising, reviewing and approving financial transactions within delegated limits
Liaising with senior management and implementing long term financial strategies
Ensuring compliance with financial regulations for HMRC, Companies House and the Charity Commission
Preparation, presentation and analysis of financial information for the Board of Trustees
Overseeing the payroll and pension process, ensuring compliance
Managing the charity’s insurance portfolio, including renewals, claims and risk
Overseeing the management of IT support contract and rental/lease agreements
Lead on procurement processes and negotiating with suppliers
Responsible for one member of staff and supporting their development
You will be a qualified accountant or qualified by experience and have strong experience in financial management, budgets, cashflow and reporting. Charity or funding experience would be advantageous.
The role is suitable for someone who is keen to play an integral part of the senior management team.
