Our client is a boutique Management consulting firm based in London and Edinburgh. This vacancy is based in their Edinburgh office with hybrid working on offer.

We are recruiting a Finance Manager to work on a part time basis of 3 days per week. This role will report to the COO and will work in conjunction with the operations Director and the Executive Committee. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting activities, as well as ensuring compliance with all regulatory and legal financial obligations. This role plays a key part in guiding senior leadership with insightful financial analysis and data-driven recommendations.

Assignment Details

• Develop and manage annual budgets and long-term financial forecasts
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and present to senior leadership
• Monitor financial performance
• Lead the month-end and year-end close processes
• Ensure compliance with statutory law and financial regulations
• Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and banks
• Improve financial systems and processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy
• Manage cash flow and oversee accounts receivable/payable, payroll, and general ledger functions
• Support business decision-making with financial insight, analysis, and modelling
• Supervise and develop finance team members

• Professional finance qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
• Proven experience in a similar finance role, ideally within the Professional Services industry
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and corporate finance
• Excellent analytical, organisational, and communication skills
• Proficient in financial software and Microsoft Excel
• High attention to detail and ability to work to tight deadlines
• Strategic mindset with a hands-on approach
• Experience in financial transformation or system implementation
• Ability to explain complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders
