Science Technician

We are seeking a dedicated Science Technician to join our client's team in a dynamic educational setting. This role is ideal for someone with a background as a technician in a lab or educational environment, looking to contribute to the success of our science department.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Prepare materials and equipment for science experiments and demonstrations.
  • Assist science teachers in setting up and dismantling apparatus for practical lessons.
  • Ensure that all laboratory equipment is functional and safe to use.
  • Manage the stock of chemicals and laboratory supplies, ensuring that all materials are stored safely.
  • Conduct routine safety checks and maintain cleanliness in the labs.
  • Support students during lab sessions under the supervision of the teacher.
  • Handle and dispose of waste materials in accordance with safety regulations.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Previous experience as a Science Technician or similar role in a laboratory or educational setting.
  • Familiarity with the operation and maintenance of scientific equipment.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations in a laboratory environment.
