Finance Assistant Part Time

Adele Carr Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a valued client in the search for a Part-Time Finance Assistant to join their friendly and collaborative finance team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a detail-oriented and proactive finance professional seeking part-time hours. The role covers both Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) duties and is ideal for someone who enjoys variety and working as part of a close-knit team.

Key Responsibilities

Accounts Payable (AP):

  • Process supplier invoices and credit notes for a small, manageable ledger.
  • Set up and process supplier payments using Sage and online banking platforms.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date supplier accounts.
  • Allocate credits and payments promptly to avoid aged balances.
  • Keep payment tracking records updated with supplier and payment information.
  • Escalate any discrepancies or issues to the Operations team or Team Leader as appropriate.

Accounts Receivable (AR):

  • Manage customer collections for a small debtor ledger.
  • Chase outstanding payments professionally via phone and email.
  • Issue regular customer account statements and follow up on expected payment dates.
  • Work with internal teams to resolve invoice queries quickly and efficiently.
  • Escalate significantly overdue accounts where necessary.

Bank Reconciliation:

  • Perform weekly reconciliations for GBP, USD, and EUR bank accounts.

Additional Support:

  • Assist the AP and AR teams during month-end close.
  • Provide general support across the finance department with ad hoc tasks as required.

What is required of yourself?

  • Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
  • Experience using Sage or similar accounting software (preferred).
  • Confident communicator with a professional and proactive approach.
  • Able to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines within part-time hours.
  • A positive, team-focused attitude with a willingness to support where needed.
