Bookkeeper – Part-Time (Permanent)

Location: Office-based, Tonbridge TN11

Hours: 30 hours per week (negotiable)

Salary: £28,000 – £35,000 per annum FTE

About the Role

We are seeking a highly organised and experienced Bookkeeper to join a finance team. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the financial operations of the organisation, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance in all financial processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with management accounting, reporting, and variance/trend analysis

• Support budgeting, forecasting, and year-end financial processes

• Prepare financial reports including accruals, prepayments, and journals

• Help transition accounting systems from Sage to Xero

• Maintain purchase and sales ledgers, including invoice processing and payment runs

• Manage petty cash, credit control, and monthly income reporting

• Reconcile bank accounts and monitor daily transactions

• Respond to finance-related queries and support general finance admin tasks

Person Specification

• CIMA, ACA, ACCA qualified/part-qualified or equivalent experience

• Strong knowledge of Xero and experience in a finance department

• Excellent understanding of accounting principles and cash flow management

• Highly numerate, organised, and able to meet deadlines under pressure

• Excellent communication skills and a high level of confidentiality

• Must have own vehicle due to office location

• DBS check required
