Our client is an independent food manufacturer based in Manchester who is looking for an Electrical Engineer to join their team on a part-time basis. The family business has over 100 years’ experience manufacturing and is a business who have a reputation for high quality in their product and their production.

This role is ideal for an experienced engineer who is perhaps looking to reduce their hours while still playing a valuable and rewarding role in a business.

Electrical Engineer - Requirements

  • Qualified Electrical Engineer (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)
  • Degree in Mechanical\Electrical Engineering or would be desirable or equivalent experience.
  • Strong experience in electrical maintenance within a manufacturing environment (food or FMCG preferred)
  • A supportive and collaborative mindset—keen to guide and develop others
  • Excellent communication skills and a hands-on, solutions-driven approach

Electrical Engineer - Responsibilities

  • Support and lead electrical machine upgrades and improvement projects
  • Train the current team to future proof the existing engineering department
  • Liaise with the production team to ensure all machines are well-maintained and production-ready
  • Assist with CAPEX project on site, including new machinery and plant automation upgrades
  • Strong knowledge of electrical control systems, including PLC controllers in Siemens
  • Able to program frequency inverters
