Health and Fitness Tutor Assessor

We are looking to add to our part-time and full-time tutor assessor team

To deliver high-quality instruction, guidance, and assessment for learners working toward their qualifications. This role combines teaching and assessment responsibilities to ensure learners meet the required standards and achieve success. The Tutor/Assessor is responsible for planning, delivering, and evaluating learning activities, providing constructive feedback, and supporting learners throughout their learning journey.

These are fulltime or fractional contracts from 10 to 40 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage an agreed caseload of learners, ensuring timely completion of qualifications through high-quality training, mentoring, and assessment

• Serve as the primary contact for assigned learners, fostering supportive relationships to aid development and monitor progress

• Deliver personalised coaching and guidance, adapting teaching methods to accommodate individual learning needs • Assist to design and deliver engaging learning sessions in line with qualification and curriculum standards

• Record and maintain accurate data on learner progress, achievements, and any required support

• Collect, review, and assess learner evidence against defined criteria, ensuring alignment with Awarding Organisation standards • Provide timely, constructive, and developmental feedback to support learner progression

• Make informed and consistent judgements on learner competence and readiness for assessment

• Support the Customer Experience Manager in producing reports on learner performance and progression

• Support the Customer Experience Manager and participate in internal and external quality assurance processes, including standardisation meetings, audits, and where necessary support Awarding Organisation visits

• Collaborate with the Customer Experience Manager and Director of Education to design and enhance learning materials that promote holistic learning and skill development Other Responsibilities

• Professional Development: Engage in ongoing CPD to stay current in subject knowledge, teaching techniques, and assessment best practices. Complete mandatory and relevant training and stay informed about sector changes

• Quality & Compliance: Actively promote and uphold policies related to equality, diversity, safeguarding, and health & safety

• Values & Culture: Embody and promote company values, ensuring compliance with all regulatory and Awarding Organisation requirements

• Team Engagement: Attend team and company wide meetings and actively contribute to professional development sessions

Essential Qualities and Experience

• Proven experience in training, teaching, and/or assessing within a vocational or adult learning setting • Relevant teaching or assessing qualifications (e.g. TAQA, A1, CAVA, PTLLS, or equivalent)

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills

• Ability to work independently and manage a remote caseload

• Excellent organisational and problem solving skills

• Commitment to learner success, inclusivity, and continuous improvement • Knowledge of quality assurance and assessment principles

Study Active Limited £10,000 - £38,000 per annum, OTE Old Hurst
