A warm and inclusive primary school in the heart of Levenshulme is looking for a dedicated and nurturing Nursery Teaching Assistant to join their Early Years team on a part-time basis. This is a permanent 3 day per week position which will begin in September.

As a Nursery Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the Nursery Teacher and wider Early Years team to support the day-to-day running of the nursery classroom. You will help create a stimulating and nurturing setting where every child feels valued, safe, and excited to learn.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the class teacher in delivering the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum
• Work with individual children and small groups to promote development in key areas such as language, social skills, and early literacy/numeracy
• Help set up and lead engaging, age-appropriate activities both indoors and outdoors
• Observe and record children's progress and contribute to learning journals
• Support children with personal care and hygiene as required
• Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
• Maintain a clean, safe, and inclusive environment for all pupils

Person Specification

• Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or Level 3 Early Years/Education equivalent)
• Experience working in an Early Years or Nursery setting
• A nurturing and patient approach to working with young children
• Strong understanding of the EYFS framework
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills
