Art Session Volunteer

Purpose of the role We are looking for a sessional Arts volunteer who can deliver weekly art sessions to our residents in a 1-to-1 capacity with a resident and a support worker present. As part of your volunteer role, you will plan the group sessions consulting with attendees to decide on the types of art activities they would like to undertake, making sure that the activities are inclusive. You will take a creative approach to delivering the sessions using a variety of art materials including paints, charcoal, colouring pens, paper, yarn, etc, and ensure that the materials are tidied away and the space is left clean and tidy at the end of each session. This role is a great way to gain experience of an arts facilitation role.

Preferred hours per week/time commitment: Flexible

As a volunteer with Creative Support we offer training for your role, access to a volunteer supervisor, an induction, a monthly volunteer newsletter, and an online volunteer support network group on Zoom.

Volunteer duties:

• Setting up for the activity, moving tables and chairs if necessary.
• Delivering the activity
• Coming up with ideas for new sessions in collaboration with attendees.
• Clearing away at the end of the session.
• Helping to promote the sessions to service users.
• Attending regular supervisions with your volunteer supervisor.
• Respecting boundaries and reporting any concerns to staff.
