Part-Time Finance Assistant

Newline Anglia are a family run hygiene and cleaning supplier based in Royston. We are currently seeking an experienced, highly organised and reliable finance assistant to join our collaborative and friendly team. This is a varied role covering all aspects of the day to day finance function within the business. You'll have a keen eye for detail, a high level of accuracy, and be a confident self starter with the ability to work independently. This is a part time role with some flexibility in terms of working hours. Approx. 16-20 per week over 4 days.

The role:

  • Day to day management of the purchase ledger
  • Processing supplier invoices and payments
  • Resolving supplier invoice queries
  • Reconciling supplier statements and bank accounts
  • Day to day management of sales ledger
  • Dealing with customer account queries
  • Credit control and review of customer credit terms and limits
  • Prepare and post month-end journals, including accruals and prepayments.
  • Support month-end and year-end financial reporting
  • Support with payroll function and records
  • Maintaining accurate records and supporting financial reporting
  • Assisting with general finance and admin duties as needed
  • Carry out balance sheet reconciliations and support wider month-end close processes

About You:

  • Previous experience in a finance or accounting role essential
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills
  • Experience in accounting software
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • A team player with strong communication abilities
  • AAT qualification or working towards (desirable, or qualified by experience)
