We are seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join our team on a one-year fixed term basis to cover maternity leave. This role is crucial in providing essential learning and accessibility support to young people and adults with Special Educational Needs (SEN), including facilitating their access to learning programmes and college services.

• Provide person-centred learning support to students with severe and complex learning difficulties and/or disabilities, which may include personal care where necessary.
• Work with individuals or small groups to encourage engagement with activities and independent work.
• Support the achievement of educational outcomes relevant to individual Educational Health & Care Plans (EHCPs).
• Facilitate the personal development of learning/study skills.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, teachers, parents/carers, and other agencies involved with the students.

• Good literacy and numeracy skills.
• Experience of working in a multi-cultural environment.
• Strong understanding of safeguarding, discrimination issues, and the challenges faced by those with learning difficulties.
• Willingness to assist learners with personal care and mobility, taking instructions from learners regarding their support needs.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Exceptional organisational skills combined with proficient IT knowledge and sound administration skills.
• Experience of working with SEN learners in a secondary or Further Education (FE) environment is desirable.
