Financial Controller

We've partnered exclusively with a growing SME to recruit a Financial Controller to take ownership of their finance function. Coming after a period of development and change, this is a pivotal role offering both strategic input and hands-on responsibility within a dynamic, down-to-earth working environment.

The Role:
As Financial Controller, you’ll work closely with the Managing Director and leadership team to oversee the financial health of the business, ensure robust financial controls, and contribute to key commercial decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead all aspects of financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and monthly reporting.
  • Deliver timely and accurate management accounts with insightful commentary.
  • Manage cash flow, working capital, and financial planning processes.
  • Provide commercial and operational support to senior management.
  • Improve and maintain internal controls, policies, and financial procedures.
  • Liaise with auditors, tax advisors, and banks.
  • Mentor and develop a small finance team.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
About You:
  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA).
  • Proven experience in a similar role, ideally within manufacturing or an SME environment.
  • Strong technical accounting skills and commercial awareness.
  • Proactive, hands-on, and adaptable to a fast-paced setting.
  • Excellent communicator, capable of working cross-functionally and influencing decision-making.
  • Open to both full-time and part-time candidates.
